Of course no writing workshop worth its salt would be without some work towards making us better writers. With that last night we were handed our folders, individually tailored by the sage, James MacDonald.
When the message boards were abuzz with info months ago, Jim told us that the day starts at 6am. I thought he was kidding. He was not. It’s optional, but there is a 3 mile hike at 6am.
I took a different strategy. I worked on my 200 pages. Yes, we received 5 stories from our colleagues which we need to critique over the next 3 days. I read 2.5 stories last night and the other 1.5 today. I was breaking even when I received something I expected: write a story by Thursday. At least Attending Uncle Orson’s I know I can do a story in 24 hours, so I’ll start plotting tomorrow.
Tonight I intend to spend some quality time with my instructors, staff and fellow students. It’s dinner time, so off I go.
I did have a 1-on-1 with TNH today. More on that later.
